40 Shillings on the Drum - Mean Streets (Born in the Same Gutter)

Following the worldwide success of their debut EP, ‘Beggars Who Believe’, and the live album, ‘Live at the Albert’, 40 Shillings on the Drum look ahead to an action-packed 2019…

Tom Gleeson of Slaves to Gravity and Feeder to mix upcoming single and album by 40 Shillings on the Drum

2018 saw a real development in furthering both the ambition and career of 40 Shillings on the Drum, on and offline. The groundwork was laid down between launch in 2016 and summer 2018, and looking ahead to 2019, their consistent, hard work as an independent artist is already paying off.

Having kickstarted 2018 with a well-received live album and short UK tour (their first), the band were quickly snapped up for an appearance at Beautiful Days festival alongside the likes of Manic Street Preachers and The Hives. During this festival, the band became friends with Skinny Lister and Tom Gleeson of Slaves to Gravity and Feeder, the latter has now completed mixing duties on the brand new single by 40 Shillings on the Drum - Mean Streets (Born in the Same Gutter).

The single shows a huge departure from their traditional folk-punk roots, with the band taking a more contemporary, punk-rock sound to new heights.

In the build-up to this release, a short tour has been booked around St Patrick’s Day, with the band taking to the stage in several intimate venues across England. Having hit 30k monthly listeners on Spotify in 2019 because of the international popularity of their debut EP, ‘Beggars Who Believe', over St Patrick’s weekend, March brings about the perfect time for the band to hit the road to promote new material, along with putting them on a springboard which will launch them into a packed summer schedule of festivals and U.K. wide shows.

The band’s debut album, also produced by Tommy Gleeson, will follow in late 2019.

‘Mean Streets (Born in the Same Gutter), the new single by 40 Shillings on the Drum, will be released worldwide to stream and as a digital download on Friday 5th April 2019 and available through –
