Alt Pop Rockers Azwel Releases Trippy New Music Video "Disaster Zone"
From their album "Mind Caliber" set to come out in June, alternative Pop Rock band Azwel releases a trippy music video to accompany their single, "Disaster Zone." The track combines numerous influences and sounds. Segmented into 60's psychedelia and slight Surfer Rock, "Disaster Zone" sways from emotion and emphasis, to ease and escapism, as the verses drop into a mellow groove. This sits in juxtaposition to the heaviness of the chorus. With insightful lyrics and lines that can be interpreted into many situations, Azwel manages to mix a relaxing vibe into a song that still carries some serious weight. "Eclectic catchy Pop Rock" perfectly describes the mood. Ending in an evolved state, the track expands to a keyboard solo, giving the listener one more element to digest. Azwel leaves an obvious indication that "Mind Caliber" is an album of great promise.
ABOUT AZWEL: Azwel is a project that involves songwriter Jason Perrillo and his live band. For the past 15 years, Jason has gained online success recording and producing independently released albums in his New York studio. He describes the music as melodic, eclectic catchy pop/rock with songs that are influenced by various styles of music. The sound is often compared to britpop/rock artists. Within the last few years a live band was formed consisting of Joe Lorge (guitar/backing vocals) Gregg Steele (bass/backing vocals), Johnny Zaletel (drums/percussion), and Randy Bennis(Keyboards.)
Perrillo calls his music 'interesting melodic pop,' an understatement to say the least. That's like calling Jimi Hendrix's music 'unusual rock.” — NY Newsday
