An Interview with 'Hazey'

Who are the band members and what do they play?

Tim Brown - Vocals & Guitar Justin Wilkinson - Vocals & Drums

How and where did you get together?

We have been best friends since we met in our teenage years. In lockdown, we decided to get this band started and create music we love.

What are the band's main influences?

The Killers, The Cure, Deaf Havana, Charli XCX & Blink 182

Have you played any notable gigs, festivals or other events? Likewise radio or TV appearances?

Our debut single 'Kimberly' has already gained strong support from UK radio stations such as BBC Radio Bristol & BCFM. (BBC Radio Bristol - "A strong hefty slab of rock and roll. Top tune and strong start to your music career!")

Are there any other interesting or amusing happenings – no matter how small – that the band have been involved with that would be of interest to those who like your music?

Within a couple of months - we wrote the songs, got a photoshoot, shot a music video and created a social presence online. It was a busy time for sure!

Do you have any favourable quotes from previous reviews of the band that you'd be happy to share?

(BBC Radio Bristol - "A strong hefty slab of rock and roll. Top tune and strong start to your music career!")

Where was the single/EP/album recorded and who was involved in its production?

The upcoming EP was recorded at Stage 2 Studios in Bath by Josh Gallop.

Is there a particular ethos behind the single/EP/album or any particular music styles or events that inspired it?

We love having an element of mystery with our sound. Our next EP could be any genre.

Can you briefly describe what the song/each song is about? If you are releasing an album then either describe the thinking behind the project or choose a couple of lead tracks to focus on.

Saying Goodbye - displays the heartache of distance. Loved ones being out of reach is painful but the sensation of being reunited is one worth waiting for.

Were there any notable or amusing happenings surrounding the recording/production of the EP? As above, list whatever might be of relevance.

Lots of coffee was consumed.

Please provide a one or two-line personal quote that can be attributed to a band member, about either the band themselves or the release. Obviously the more eye-catching this is the better.

Justin - This song is so close to my heart. Missing my girlfriend has been very tough and I poured my emotions into this track. Tim - Composing this track felt so natural and came together easily. The guitar work in the verses are the highlight for me!
