An Interview with 'Jason Sweeney'
Who are the band members and what do they play?
Jason Sweeney Vocals and guitar
How and where did you get together?
I am a singer-songwriter who has been in many bands over the years and I written two albums for the band The King Lot, described as highly infectious, melodic hard rock with an edge.
What are the band's main influences?
Classic rock 80's rock bands, like Def Leppard, Bonjovi, Skid Row
Have you played any notable gigs, festivals or other events? Likewise radio or TV appearances?
I have toured tour all round the Uk playing shows with Tyketto, The Answer, Inglorious, Big Country and Dan Reed and Jizzy Pearls Love/Hate. I have also played the famous Scottish T in The Park.
Are there any other interesting or amusing happenings – no matter how small – that the band have been involved with that would be of interest to those who like your music?
Jason holds a 1st class honours degree in music, A masters degree in songwriting and multiple awards, including the esteemed Tartan Clef and most recently the court medal from the University of the West of Scotland.
Where was the single/EP/album recorded and who was involved in its production?
The song was recorded in my home studio and lead guitar was played by Scott Hannah who recorded his parts remotely, it was then mixed by stella sound studios in glasgow.
Is there a particular ethos behind the single/EP/album or any particular music styles or events that inspired it?
They are personal songs to date, ready to show the world a powerful array of inspiring sound & stories through the tales woven into the fabric of my new material with my signature 80's rock vibe.
Can you briefly describe what the song/each song is about? If you are releasing an album then either describe the thinking behind the project or choose a couple of lead tracks to focus on.
The song touches on the story of a woman who faces some challenges in her life but keeps getting back up and moving forward.
Please provide a one or two-line personal quote that can be attributed to a band member, about either the band themselves or the release. Obviously the more eye-catching this is the better.
The undeniable mix of passion & true grit of my rock sound is a bold reflection of a life spent immersed in my craft. Im bringing arena rock back to the radio.
