Aussie Artist Chris Lanzon Shares “Everest”

Chris Lanzon is leading the charge out of his city, making emotionally charged, sonically huge music that doesn’t glamourise or use sadness as a marketing weapon, but as a truly cathartic tool of unraveling his mind.” - Project U

Chris Lanzon has well and truly shed his one-to-watch tag and ascended into a must-listen category. His latest single ‘Everest’ is powerful and intoxicating, not to mention mature beyond his 20 years of age.” - Life Without Andy

Melancholy really makes Chris Lanzon one to watch” - Pilerats

“‘Melancholy’ is a coming of age collection of tracks that are intimate, vulnerable and intricately engineered with heart and soul.” - Thomas Bleach

Following the success of his debut EP Melancholy in May, promising newcomer Chris Lanzon returns with “Everest” (releasing Sept 17th) - the first single from his highly anticipated sophomore project.

Transcending genre and traditional pop structure, the song invites listeners to embark on a unique journey with Chris through the trials of self-doubt and life’s challenges - something he hopes many can relate to, especially in the context of this turbulent year.

Introspective lyrics over delicately uplifting music make the 20-year-old from Sydney a voice for his generation, and many have already labelled him one-to-watch.

I think this is the most honest and vulnerable song I’ve made so far, yet it sounds really upbeat and invigorating. I love the contrast of those feelings. It’s really about feeling stuck and misunderstood, but I wanted to explore that in a comforting and warm tone,” says Chris.

ABOUT CHRIS LANZON

Having only released his self-produced first project in May - Chris has quickly amassed over 400,000 streams across platforms, with thousands of engaged followers on social media. The self-managed and independent artist is determined to bring people into his world of authentic expression and relatable storytelling through his music. “Everest” is merely a taste of what’s to come from the rising Australian artist, who plans to release more music before the year’s end.

Continuing in his truly DIY fashion - Chris wrote, produced and mixed the new track, and created the artwork and accompanying visuals. He is in the process of creating a music video to support the release. He collaborated with New York based engineer Matthew Agoglia (Gorillaz, Golden Vessel, James Taylor + more) to master the track, and fellow Aussie musician Nick Ward for some additional synth parts.
