Dust In The Sunlight Release Remixed EP

‘Beautiful dusky indie music’ - BBC Introducing

‘An assured debut, one steeped in a rich sense of emotion while paying acute attention to melody’ - CLASH

‘A fine blend of Royksopp, The XX and London Grammar with the harmony-laden lushness of First Aid Kit driving the song along while hints of Elliott Smith and Joni Mitchell caress the narrative lyrics’ - Record Of The Day

Imagine a debut single remixed not once but five times, each in a totally different style by a host of established musicians and producers. This is the position that alt-pop duo Dust In The Sunlight found themselves in, following the release of their debut EP in June this year.

The remixes have formed an entity of their own - traversing the iconic noise and electro-indie beats of The Big Pink, meditative chill pop curated by Mr Cutts (Stormzy, Empara Mi, Green Tea Peng), dance / drum and bass depths of Mid Ground’s take through to Peaking Lights’ dub reimagining and Tom Donovan’s (Monster Florence, Foreign Beggars) electronic Ibiza house masterstroke.

Paired with hypnotic visuals (each remix is accompanied by its own strand of the artwork), the EP is cascading into existence - each track being released every Friday until 11th September to form a unique and genre-defying product.

Dust In The Sunlight are an alt-pop duo based in London. Following a chance meeting at Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly’s studio singing backing vocals for his new album, singer-songwriters Billy Wright and Annie Rew Shaw quickly discovered how well their voices melded together. That evening, they wrote their first two songs together and Dust In The Sunlight was formed.

Bonding over a love of artists like Elliott Smith, Sufjan Stevens and Joni Mitchell, Dust In The Sunlight is a curation of delicately-crafted, contemplative songwriting set against a landscape of brooding, alternative pop.

Within 12 months of their formation, the duo caught the attention and signed a record deal with the label Project Melody. Their self-titled debut single picked up support from BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, CLASH, Record Of The Day and Radio X.

On Dust In The Sunlight REMIXED EP, the duo said ‘We’re honoured to have such established wide-ranging artists take our debut single and create a whole new re-interpretation. We’re blown away by the quality of each remix, and how well they all work together! Each one takes you on a completely different journey.’
