Grateful Edmund Drops New EP “Grate District of Raleigh”
Grateful Edmund announces his return, bringing a new soulful sound to fans with the release of his long-awaited EP album, Grate District of Raleigh. The forthcoming record is a follow-up to his 2018 singles titled “Free Ya Mind” and “Every N*gga is a Star” and is set to be released on June 14, 2019. Grate District of Raleigh is composed of 5 tracks including the rerelease of 2018. Summer hit “Turn up on Sunday”, and chronicles the former Washington, DC rapper’s recent move to Raleigh, NC.
The EP, which feels more like a mixtape, showcases Grateful’s multifaceted vocal talent and trademark artistic lyrical flair and spans multiple genres with songs like “Make a Way” gritty hip hop track with gospel undertones, the jazzy anthem “Carolina” to “Worth It”, a sultry pop song reminiscent of a great Pharrell falsetto. There’s something about Grateful Edmund that is indescribably different — and his newest project is by far his most mature sound to date.
