Highly-rated newcomers Karobela release self-titled EP, June 5th
Young British alt-rock act Karobela continue to build on the impressive buzz gained through the release of ‘Skin & Bone’ and ‘Liquor Heart’ singles (both playlisted on Planet Rock) with the release of their hotly anticipated debut, self-titled EP.
Powered by the uniquely charismatic vocals of Lauren Diamond, each track; from the driving ‘Skin and Bone’ to the multi-layered ‘Candy’ onto the Black Keys-esque stomp of ‘Liquor Heart’ is given a distinctive twist.
Inspired by all styles of music, their influences are drawn from across the spectrum: from the intricate arrangements of Fleetwood Mac and Queen, the virtuosity of Clapton and Hendrix, to the contemporary stylings of contemporary bands such as No Doubt, The Pretty Reckless and Royal Blood. With such a broad palette to draw from, it’s immediately apparent that Karobela’s sound is one of a kind.
From your first sight of tartan and leopard print, you can’t help but be drawn in by the band’s infectious character, immense stage presence and seductiveness. Karobela are putting their own very individual stamp on the world of alternative rock music, carving a path of their own and taking no prisoners along the way.
Their self-titled debut EP follows hot on the heels of a string of diverse singles to bring together Karobela’s unmistakable sonic personality in a complete package for the first time - this is ‘an unquestionable aural affirmation that this is the future.’
