Indie Rock Band Turbo Widget Releases Poignant New Song ‘Dreams’
With original melodies, soulful vocals and commendable lyrics, Turbo Widget is a quirky musical act based out of St. Louis. Band members Ben Hanvy and Kim are a husband-wife duo. Having been in the business for over 5 years, they aim to spread a message of love and kindness through their unique indie rock music. By the end of 2018, the band made a promise to their followers: to release a new song every month in 2019. Keeping with that promise, the band has now announced the release date of their new song ‘Dreams’.
The new song shares a beautifully emotional coming of age story that is written for their teenage son. Pertaining mostly to an acoustic sound, ‘Dreams’ is a testament to Ben Hanvy’s vocal prowess. The duo draws inspirations from many artists; their music is often described as an amalgamation of many genres including psychedelic rock, alternative rock, grunge and more. Their journey started with the success of their self-produced EP ‘First Light’.
The duo made an official press statement to discuss their work and announce the new song “When we formed Turbo Widget, we had a clear goal in mind: to spread a positive message with our music and inspire our listeners. For the past 4 years, we have been independently producing ground-breaking music and that has given us a considerable cult following.”
The duo further added “Our new song for the month of February is called ‘Dreams’ and it will be available on the 15th. We wrote the song as a coming of age story. This song is very personal to us and we have worked on it for three years to truly polish the composition.”
