Jonathan Hultén reveals a new animated lyric video for “Where Devils Weep”

Taken from his debut solo album Chants From Another Place – released today on Kscope

Today sees the release of Chants From Another Placethe long awaited debut solo album from JONATHAN HULTÉN, Sweden’s darkly enigmatic Grammy-winning songwriter.

Following on from the release of his singles and videos for the tracks “The Mountain” and “Wasteland”, Hultén has created an animated lyric video for the song “Where Devils Weep”. Excited to finally be able to present his full album to fans Jonathan comments “Today, ‘Chants From Another Place’ is released. It’s been a ride and I’m so pleased to be able to finally share this with all of you! So let’s forget about the Coronavirus but for a 40 min-moment and let yourself sink into the Other Place, where there is always music in the air. Accompanying the release is a lyric video for ‘Where Devils Weep’. It also serves as an introduction to the 5 characters of the next video that will come later this year: The Devil, Death, The Mourner, The Soul & Hope. Enjoy!”

The musical inspiration for singer/songwriter Jonathan Hultén’s debut album Chants From Another Place is drawn from acapella folk and church choir compositions. Throughout the album, tales are weaved and musical influences collide as Hultén draws comparisons to artists including Nick Drake, Sufjan Stevens, Wovenhand and Fleet Foxes, as well as traditional folk artists such as John Martyn right through to his contemporaries in Anna Ternheim, José Gonzales, Anna von Hausswolff Chelsea Wolfe & Hexvessel.

HULTÉN was due to join CHELSEA WOLFE on her ‘Birth Of Violence’ UK & European acoustic tour but sadly this has had to be postponed. Jonathan posted the following statement “Due to the circumstances surrounding the Coronavirus the tour with Chelsea Wolfe unfortunately had to be cancelled. Under the increasing amount of restrictions there was really nothing that could have been done to save it, so a decision had to be made.
