Matinee - New music video stars Tamzin Outhwaite
Goldfish is the brand new single from Matinee.
Produced by Julian Corrie from Franz Ferdinand. The video to the single stars National Television Award winner and former EastEnders actress Tamzin Outhwaite.
Goldfish explores how the human brain works under stress and with Tamzin’s London theatre production being put on hold, it offered a creative break for Tamzin as she explains
“I love the song and the quirky concept of the video. I wanted it to resemble a pastiche of those classic falling in love montages in pop videos. Only this time with a goldfish, or is it a goldfish? Maybe it's all in her mind!...who knows!”
The video is directed and edited by Tom Child and Ben Wood of ManChild Films , you can see the video below.
NO GOLDFISH WERE HARMED IN THIS VIDEO!

What is the song about:
Goldfish is a song about how the human brain works under stress and specifically in confined spaces (fishbowl). Throughout the song we observe the characters getting on each other personal space and leading each other at breaking point. In a way the song is an exploration of the human brain and how it gets triggered by some images, sounds, words. Also the song is about an actual Goldfish living in a small fishbowl.
Anglo-Italian four piece Matinée present new album ‘Event Horizon’ produced by Billboard topping producer Tony Doogan, Julian Corrie from Franz Ferdinand and Chris Geddes from Belle and Sebastian.
‘Event Horizon’ is a 10 track neon journey through 80’s influenced, keyboard based, indie-rock. Soaring keyboards and guitars chime with indie lyrics and big hearted, pop choruses.
Matinée are named after Franz Ferdinand's hit song The Dark Of The Matinée, and they struck up a firm friendship when Matinée supported Franz Ferdinand on their Italian tour. Italy well and truly embraced Matinée and the support gigs lead to live offers from some major venues around the country, not to mention some huge radio support from national stations at home.
Matinée were nominated for Best International Act on the Amazing Radio Awards show in 2015 and also played live at the very cool Station Sessions at Kings Cross London, as well as many other key London venues including Death Disco (Creation Records; Alan McGee's night), Jubilee (Carl Barat's night) and the 100 Club.
Last year they played at the Un Altro Festival in Milan, opening for The Lumineers. Other support slots include Mystery Jets, The Futureheads, and British Sea Power.
