New Music: Kyle Maher 'Serenity' Single
The northern reaches of Australia have a distinct charm, amongst the heat, the natural wonder and the cavalier attitudes, its tropical ease will allay most bouts of madness. Darwin’s Kyle Maher, is an artist through which northern Australia evaporates. His latest single Serenity is a hazy lament of young love and sets this young artist on path of greater refinement.
Growing up in the Northern Territory, Kyle Maher’s passion for music developed from an early age. From humble beginnings bashing out Green Day covers on drums in his middle school outfit to the guitar stealing his attention and driving him towards deeper rhythm and blues and playing Airlie Beach Festival of Music in 2018 alongside Killing Heidi, Ash Grunwald and Smashmouth. Late 2018 saw him release his single Yellow Flowers that received positive reviews
"Super interesting artist with rad creative ideas that feel like the etchings of something great to come" Nkechi Anele - triple j/saskwatch
Inspired by the bold creativity of Frank Ocean and John Mayer’s reverence of style, Serenity arrives as Kyle refines his approach to songwriting. Between viscous synths and and redemptive piano, Kyle Maher’s cathartic guitar threads his experience and aspirations into a track that offers wavy reflections and clear skies ahead.
Having produced Serenity himself, Kyle engaged the masters at Studio 301 in Sydney, having it mixed by Simon Cohen and mastered by Leon Zervos, ensuring that the heat, the wonder and the attitude of the tropics was preserved meticulously. As producer and crooner Kyle’s intent with Serenity is that it floats around your head to help you get through the moments that pull you down.
‘Serenity’ by KYLE MAHER out March 8th.
