New Music: Leipzig Lab 'Unloved' Single & Video
Emerging from the Melbourne underground electronic scene, Leipzig Lab bring a fresh take on a classic era in electronic music. Having roots in the electro pop sensibilities of the 80's and 90's, Leipzig Lab are releasing their hard hitting single Unloved.
Leipzig Lab show their eclectic tastes with a diversity of influences across styles and genres. They never fail to bring something new with every song. To date, Leipzig Lab have produced five singles, three with video clips. Their debut single, Fall (August 2017), landed a few dedicated fans overseas and received some great reviews on triple J Unearthed. From there, Alex Steve and Kieran Bahlmann, as Leipzig Lab, have developed and refined their sound. The band took a six month hiatus but have come back with Unloved its series of remixes, with Melbourne’s Triela as the single’s official B-side.

Alex and Kieran have a powerful creative process, bringing two distinctly different musical backgrounds into the music that they both always wanted to make. Like a double helix of complimentary code Leipzig Lab is more than the sum of the parts. Their songs couldn't be what they are now without either of the duo.
“We write all of our songs over the internet, we both have home studios and a shared drive. We take turns with coming up with parts and recordings, these automatically arrive in each others studios. It's the beauty of making music in this age, we can work and rework a song until we know it's the best it can be before we even get to rehearse it” - Kieran Bahlmann
Unloved grinds with an industrial urgency and flaunts its fight hard, love harder attitude with the fervour of rocks' most rivetingly dysfunctional personalities.
