NEW SINGLE and Video: Modem the Band - "Equal"
Modem The Band are a post-punk coldwave trio from Larissa, Greece, with minimal, schizoid, tuneful attitude.
They released on September 07th "Equal", the first single from their forthcoming full-lenght “Chapter I: Inspiration”, due out on November 02nd, 2020, Vinyl 12″/Digital, through Grey Dome Records.
"This song is about the inevitable battle of classes in someone’s head. Many people consider that they are privileged and stand out from others but in reality they are stranded in their own isolative world, a case very difficult for a deluded mind to accept. Self-knowledge is hard to attain."
The video, prèmiered last week by White Light / White Heat, features: "subliminal black and white illustrations, that depict the process of various sound-waves and frequencies travelling through an AM transmitter, receiver, and detector, as a metaphor for brainwaves and the intricate electrical system involved in learned behaviour and sociological inequality."
Imagine a world without a modem…
Music is the ultimate connection of soul, mind and body and our love for music makes us connect as much as we can with the world around us and people who share the same concept.
Modem The Band was created in 2018 in Larissa, Greece. It was the idea of Constantine which soon became a reality, consisting of a labyrinth of synth, dark and post punk sounds. Constantine (aka Zakk Minimal), a long time music producer, had the need to experiment both musically and expressively.
The initial line up of the band was Constantine, She (Vocals), Johny Teo (Guitars) and Theodore (bass) but after a year of live performances, musical quests and drastic changes the lineup shifted and so did the sonic direction of the band. Constantine and Theodore added Polydefkis in vocals plus guest vocalists at times.
Modem The Band aim to share their musical aesthetics, always create fresh, modernized music breaking new grounds of sounds and at the same time creating new genres. "Chapter I: Inspiration", our debut album is based on the music we loved and became a part of it, a blend of modular sounds and analog instrumentation.
