‘Small Town Enforcer’ is a stomping new track from Nixon Tate & The Honey Club, available to stream now. ‘Small Town Enforcer’ is the lead single and the title track taken from the Stoke band’s upcoming EP of the same name which is currently available to pre-save (https://ffm.to/nthc-smalltown) before the EP drops on Friday 19th April.
Produced by Thom Twemlow & Tom Bishop at Hope Mill Studios Manchester and The Silk Mill in Stoke. ‘Small Town Enforcer’ is the follow-up to NTHC’s 2017 debut EP ‘Roses & Bones’ which contained the single ‘All Over Now’ that was added to Tom Robinson’s BBC Introducing Mixtape.
The six track EP contains a track commissioned by the World of Wedgwood Museum for an art installation reflecting on the centenary of the first world war and two live tracks recorded with a Manchester based orchestra made up of Royal Northern College of Music graduates called The Untold Orchestra.
Stoke-on-Trent born Tate draws inspiration from the likes of Bob Dylan, Jackson Browne, Bruce Springsteen, Nick Cave, Gram Parsons, Pearl Jam and Bon Iver. “I need songs to talk to me, to be evocative,” he says, “and lyrics to tell stories and conjure narratives and realities.”
Nixon Tate & The Honey Club will play to a sold-out crowd at their EP launch party at The Artisan Tap on April 18th with more gigs planned throughout summer.
