Not anymore. It’s a different time & a different me

Kema Sikazwe also known as Kema Kay. brought up in the west-end of Newcastle. Kema came from a musical background with passion for rap, singing & songwriting which he developed in a local youth project where he spent most of his time as a teen. He's went on to perform at the biggest venues around Newcastle, Sage, Evolution Festival, Headlining the O2 academy as well as supporting big artists in the industry. It wasn’t until his early 20s he got interested in acting where he went on to land a main role in BAFTA, BIFA Palme D’or award winning film I Daniel Blake and Lady Macbeth.

Eager to learn and built his craft he attended live theatre regularly becoming an associate artist at Live Theatre in 2017 getting up on stage for the first time. Writing & performing his Debut Show Shine which played at Live Theatre & toured to Edinburgh & received raving 4 star reviews.

When not on stage or on TV screen, he delivers songwriting workshops with various companies in Newcastle going into schools teaching kids how to rap, sing, song-write & build their confidence.

Kema Kay : “ There’s allot of unexpected songs on the EP. People will get to hear a side of me they haven’t before, The passion, the anger, the sadness, the happiness, the fun, the loss, the gain. I’m letting the audiences into my world. More than I ever have before.”

Kema Kay – Not Anymore

This upcoming E.P shows a growth in Kema Kays music, his maturity & career. The term “ Not anymore” is used to show he’s not where he used to be. From grime to hip hop, pop and influences from afro beats, It walks you through his journey from the beginning, where he’s at now & where he intends to go. The whole E.P has a different feel to each track. It’s release will be August 9th on all platforms.

A Headline show is due to also take place at Bobiks on 24th October if it’s safe & allowed to do so during the current pandemic. If not, it will be scheduled at a later date.

From the release he will also be working on visuals to the songs to bring them to life.
