Posh Chocolates release indie-hit 'Dose'
Posh Chocolates are a Manchester 3-piece who specialise in a pioneering sound that shifts from full-blown indie to captivating synth-led escapes. The band have picked up notable success on streaming platforms with their two previous offerings, GAUDY and Gold Tongue, as well as strong blog support and acclaim from BBC Introducing and BBC 6 Music.
Having returned with their newest pop revelation, Dose is loaded with grooving bass, jazzy keys and hooky guitar lines. The track is typically layered with quirky lyricism which is made all the more authentic when delivered with a mancunian accent, this being pioneered by lyricist and front man Christian Ellery.
Discussing the release, Posh Chocolates explain:
“Dose is born from contemplation about my affliction between addiction, and the conviction of a new love interest. Often I feel love can be the main offender when it comes to provoking feelings of addiction, and seeking a dose of someone to replace urges to endeavour in substance is a profound feeling. I’m always seeking ‘company’, whether it be friendship, love, or just turning to the potion. ‘Hide my shady sauce syndrome,’ states the chorus (sadly, already often misheard as ‘sausage rolls’). The question is, to whom am I picking up the phone?”
