The soulful singer-songwriter and producer Cariss Auburn releases new single, “Way Down”
From opening for soul legend Alexander O’Neal at The Jamhouse, Birmingham to appearing at Sofar Sounds and supporting Heatwave at iconic venue The Jazz Café, London, Cariss Auburn aims for the airwaves with her new single.
Following her critically acclaimed debut EP ‘Unphased’ which received heavy support from by BBC Introducing WM and featuring in the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition, ‘Way Down” sees Cariss Auburn take a melodic approach to emotional upheaval.
Initially recorded as a voice note on a phone before being produced by Nicky Brown (Madonna, Craig David, Take That) the R&B, Soul – Pop track sees the topic of a bad situation masked as a dancefloor anthem.
With a full band headline show in Birmingham at Sunflower Lounge on 27th November with Punch records and more live dates to be announced, Cariss Auburn is setting up to make huge waves in 2020.

“My music does tend to be a form of personal catharsis and
because of that, covers the sadder emotions in life but I still try to approach things with a bit of optimism even if it’s only 1% and conveyed through the feel of the music rather than the lyrics themselves.”
