THIS IS ‘HUMAN HISTORY.’ DEBUT SINGLE ‘CHOOSE YOUR WEAPON’ RELEASED: APRIL 3, 2020

HUMAN HISTORY. The moniker of South Shields (UK) born solo artist Robert Murray.

A graduate of the ACM (Academy of Contemporary Music), Robert previously fronted the bands Spies in Limbo & The Prison Library and has performed globally alongside the likes of: The Verve, Travis, Ghost Poet, Metronomy, Kaiser Chiefs & The Sex Pistols, as well as enjoying both national & international radio-play.

Once described as an enigma, Robert never set out to be a solo artist per se, but will admit to being a bit of a creative control freak, and ultimately all roads have led him here. 'DIY artist' is a term liberally scattered about in recent years, but as the sole producer of his music, it certainly applies here.

This project has been a long-time coming. Robert states…

“A conflicted, introverted exhibitionist isn't the easiest combination of personality traits, and to be honest... I just got lost.”

Making a dramatic late entrance, debut single ‘Choose Your Weapon’ is released on April 3, 2020

The song explores themes of indifference & absence within a relationship: one party full of enthusiasm and willing to share without compromise; the other overwhelmed by insecurity, self-doubt, & regret. One lover has in spirit vacated the union, yet the other clings to it with equal foresight & naivety, and because they see something in this person that the vacant soul can no longer see.

"Honest, dynamic & heartfelt; the song has a quiet dignity and assertiveness throughout."
