Tilly Dent - Judy's Lodestar

Judy’s Lodestar is the second single to be released from Tilly Dent’s anticipated debut EP.

It’s a rocky and upbeat indie release showcasing the largest soundscape Tilly has built around a song. Produced in Bristol by Oliver Menadue, it’s his most dynamic and meandering composition to date.

Emily Seagrove and Kez Dearmer have directed a surreal video for the song available to watch below

Tilly Dent writes with a signature melodic complexity and poetic flare. Since graduating from Oxford University, Tilly moved to London to focus on his songwriting, gigging at most of London's smaller venues.

He currently has a residency in Bermondsey hosting a monthly music night. His influences range from jazz to folk, and he has a particular soft-spot for 90's singer-songwriters like Jeff Buckley and Elliott Smith. His mellow vocal delivery and intricate fingerstyle guitar transport the listener to a space of wistful introspection.

"The lyrics are beautiful and poetic, what more could you ask for in a song... absolutely brilliant" – BBC introducing in Devon

"The music and sound of Tilly Dent reminds me of artists like Donovan, T-Rex and very early Bowie... very refreshing" – IndieShoutOut Mag

"a purveyor of folk music with a pleasingly hard edge... he combines Beatlesque vocals and a gift for melody" – Super World Indie Tunes
